Lynn M. Clabaugh

Marion Township Trustee

I am Lynn M. Clabaugh and I’m a candidate for the office of Marion Township Trustee. I’m a graduate of Marion Harding High School, class of 1966. I proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and I am a Viet-Nam Veteran. I am married to Velma Clabaugh and I have a son, Josh, who attends River Valley High School.

Upon completion of my military service, I was employed by the Quaker Oats Company for approximately ten (10) years. After I left Quaker Oats, I returned to our family farm and currently have approximately 700 acres under tillage. Farming is a multi-million dollar business in Ohio, and farmers must make tough choices, consider all the available options, and spend their funds in an intelligent manner.

If you know me, you are aware that I am not “a politician.” Rather, I am a plain spoken individual who has the interests and concerns of Marion Township residents at heart. My successful farming enterprise for the past 30 years has given me an excellent sense of planning and budgeting.

For example, I know there have been a number of decisions made by the current Marion County Trustees in recent years with which I disagree. Many residents are not aware of the duties and responsibilities of their Marion Township Trustees; few residents attend the meetings and voice their concerns. Our residents should have faith in the belief that the Marion Township Trustees are acting wisely while spending their tax dollars.

My qualifications include excellent communication skills, demonstrated problem solving abilities, a willingness to listen to my fellow citizens, and the capacity to work well with peers, as well as other elected officials. I want a better Marion Township, one which spends money sensibly, one which encourages growth, jobs, and new ideas. This is my pledge to my family, my friends, my neighbors, and my fellow Marion Township residents.

Sincerely,

Lynn M. Clabaugh
